Us People

It's high time for a people update.  Though I'm not as consistent as I would like to be in keeping up with our family's record, I know that my feeble attempts will be appreciated by my posterity someday.  Recently I was thinking about how I have so many vehicles for recording our mark on life.  I have this blog, I keep a Project Life album, I use Facebook and Instagram, I create occasional mini-albums that immortalize some of our family trips and adventures that we take together.

It doesn't matter how busy we seem to get, I always find myself back here, or back to my scrapbooking to ensure that these memories that me make on a daily basis are not just left in the past.  Its a bit sappy, I know, to talk about memories and times of old, but our past makes us who we are.  So, without further adieu, I give you our updates, for each of the four beings that make up our Gray clan.

Wesley:

Wesley is still loving on his favorite orange pillow case.  He loves to paint and color. He's very much left handed, which is unique as he's the only lefty in our family.  Wesley's hair grows like a weed.  And it's thick, too! His hair likes to stand straight up, which is an inherited Millar trait.  Wesley loves to go on walks, loves to eat as many Popsicle as I will allow, and is infatuated with Dragons, cars and trains.  His 3rd birthday is coming up this weekend, and we'll be celebrating by going to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy.  He keeps talking about wanting to see the fish, so that is what we've got planned.

Liliane:

My dear sweet Liliane just began her second year of Preschool.  She's going to a new school this year and is super excited about the change of scenery and the faster past that she'll be working at.  She loves making new friends, and is constantly asking if she can play with somebody.  Her vocabulary goes miles by the minute.  She's discovered Polly Pocket toys (man they're expensive!) and wants to play with them any free minute that she has.  She continually offers to help me in the kitchen, and I do all that I can to encourage that!  She is becoming such a little lady, and she's always bursting with her own, individual personality.  She's had an aversion to jeans for as long as I can remember, but recently she's introduced them back into her wardrobe rotation.  If you know Liliane, you know that seeing her wearing jeans is kind of a big deal.

Jordan:

Jordan is by far the most difficult person to get to smile for a picture.  Most of the time I have to steal pictures of him, while his head is turned or when he isn't looking.  It annoys him, but I need proof that he exists!!  Jordan's been busy with work, which is typical for summer time for him.  He's bummed that the summer pretty well over and feels like it disappeared faster that he could blink.  Jordan's new hobby is cycling.  We found him a road bike in June and he enjoys every ride he can take on it.  Ultimately he wants to participate in a Triathlon, and there is one coming up in St. George that he's got his eye on registering for.  His work schedule is still pretty heavy, so it all depends on if he has enough time to prepare and train for a race.

Moi:

It should be noted that I'm a crazy maniac.  Jordan and I had this hair-brained idea that I should head back to school, so that's what I've done.  I have two children, I work full-time, and I'm taking 12 credit hours at UVU this fall.  Yes. I am a crazy maniac.  This next four months is going to be busy and borderline unbearable, but I know we can do it.  I want to finish my degree, and I couldn't do it without my husband's full support.  He knows how important it is that I'm prepared to take over the reigns should anything happen to him.  The classes I'm taking are really interesting, so that lightens the burden a little bit.  I'm scrambling to find time for all the things I want to do, but I'm constantly reminded that big stuff comes first (i.e. making time for my sweethearts) and all the other less-pressing stuff (i.e. hobby stuff and keeping the house spic and span) will take up the room in between.  Working has been a huge paradigm in my life, and I find that I can do hard things.  Things do get done, but not always in the order that I expect them to.
